Our Visa® prepaid cards are real but money must be loaded from the app to provide a balance high enough to support any purchase. Both the parent and child/teen can see the card balance on the app dashboards and follow all transactions in the activity feed.
While cards can’t be mailed outside the US (this includes US Territories of Puerto Rico and Guam), they will work for foreign travel as long as you call the card provider (833- 920-2554) prior to leaving, there’s sufficient funds on the card and the correct card PIN is used. There could be a foreign transaction fee on purchases outside the US in stores or online, including websites hosted outside the US though your child is in the US.
Cards can not be delivered to PO Boxes, so make sure to use your permanent address when ordering. New orders can take about 7-10 business days for delivery. Upon arrival, the card must be activated through the app (pressing the lock symbol on the dashboard) or by calling the number on the back of the card (833) 920-2554.
Our cards can not be used with Venmo, Cash App, or other third party payment apps, however, it can be connected to Apple and Google Pay in a mobile device.
Finally, cards are designed for use by kids (5-17) in places kids would be expected to make purchases. Attempting to use a card in any place kids between those ages would not be allowed to make a purchase will result in the card being frozen or closed immediately.
