My Card Won't Work

There are only a few reasons why a card won't work. You'll receive one of four errors when a card doesn’t work, and these can be seen in the activity feed. They are:

  • PIN
    • Caused by the child/teen uses the wrong card PIN. If you see this error, please call the number on the back of the card (833-920-2554) to reset the PIN. If you didn’t receive a notice about this issue, please make sure your notifications are turned on inside the app.
  • NSF (Insufficient Funds)
    • Caused by not having the proper amount of money on the card when making a purchase. Please check the card balance by pressing “update” in the app dashboard. Please be aware that food delivery and car services will add a gratuity to the original charge before running the card and this could result in this problem. If the gratuity (usually 20%) makes the amount larger than the balance, the transaction will fail.
       
  • POS Decline
    • Could be a PIN issue or machine error without an error message code that can be delivered to us. If you have this message in your activity feed, call the number on the back of the card for more details.
       
  • Failed Venmo, Cash App Use
    • Our cards can not be used to move money to other money transaction systems like Venmo, Cash App, etc.

If you have issues unrelated to one of these, you’ll need to contact an agent in our support team.
